Churches & Agencies
OneStory recognizes that it is the task of the local church to help fulfill the Great Commission. To that end OneStory provides assistance to the local church, particularly in the two-thirds of the world comprised of oral communicators.
Churches with existing, well-developed involvement in a people-group ministry or in proximity to a Bibleless or unreached people group can become managing partners for a OneStory project among that people group. They can equip their own members by participation in a OneStory Quest training and consulting cycle. Through the cycle, OneStory can help churches improve their skills in cross-cultural and cross-language evangelism, discipleship and church planting among oral communicators. The church can manage its own plan to reach the people group using the resources of the OneStory partnership.
Churches that do not yet have a developed people-group ministry have several paths by which they can tap into OneStory resources. To give one example, a church may contact OneStory for information and get a response based on all the partners' resources. As OneStory Bible story sets are completed among a people group, churches may organize short-term outreaches to do broad sowing evangelism by playing the stories on MP3 players.
Upon completion of the goals of a Quest project, the OneStory partners are committed to subsequent phases of ministry championed by a partnering church within a given people group. This involves the development of more Scripture for discipleship, leadership development and church planting in story form and other media — whether audio, radio, audiovisual or print.
